The Pillar of Sports in Africa and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has expressed sadness over the demise of Kate, the wife of former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi.
Kalu described her death as painful and devastating, considering the significant roles the late Mrs. Keshi played in her family.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Prince Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said: “I was shocked when I heard the news of the passing away of Coach Stephen Keshi’s wife, Kate.
“It is an unfortunate incident as she was a supportive and submissive wife to her husband.
“She was gentle, friendly and accommodating.
“Mrs. Keshi was a caring mother not only to her kids but everyone around her.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the entire Keshi family at this sorrowful period.”
The former governor advised the deceased’s family, especially Coach Keshi, to take heart as his late wife was a role model to her gender.
Kalu, while commiserating with the Keshi family and sports stakeholders, prayed God to grant the departed eternal rest and also give the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
