Is hard for me to believe that boredom is as a result of
lack of things to do or lack of things you want to do. Boredom can be caused by
a different problem. That is why effort to stop boredom remains futile because
they don’t seem to solve the real problem.
I have put down these 12 tips to help you identify the real
culprit behind boredom; deal with it and get back to your normal self.
12. Come to understand what you really want to do.
At times when you wanted to do a particular activity
something will be preventing you. This could occur when you want to watch your
favorite TV show and the cable is malfunctioning. If this occurs, your first
step in dealing with this boredom will be to recognize that your favorite
activity.
11. Shun procrastination.
This is among chief cause of boredom especially when there
are no distractions to remove your mind off your task. Do not wait until later.
Do not delay or postpone your tasks
10. Getting your compass straight.
Lack of direction can absolutely cause boredom. Spend some
time to identify your desires, goals or passion. Recognize these can get you
motivated again.
9. Socialize with people.
Move out and meet friends, and also you can make new
friends. Boredom can mask a lack of social energy. When you may not be able to
meet with your friends or make new friends, go to online forums that interests
you the most.
8. Putting of your boredom.
Glance through your to-do list. You can start doing one of
the tasks on the list before finding sth fun to do. You can put off the boredom
for a few minutes by being productive and it helps in kicking the feeling.
7. Try and acquire something new.
You may need some mental stimulations here. Some of the
things you can do to start include: ---Study
a book, ---research on any topic you love most online, ----put down a short story,
---you can a Photoshop of yourself or workout your artistic skill.
6. Stop getting distracted.
Boredom sets in when you engage in some low value tasks such
as, random internet surfing, watching TV shows that are not interesting to you.
Distraction can put you in a long state of disinterest. You can switch the
television or computer and start strolling until you find something better to
busy yourself with.
5. Filling scheduled holes.
Too much time is occasionally worse than no time at all.
When you have a scheduled vacuum, is always difficult to adjust to boredom.
During holidays, I use to find myself irritated due to emptiness of my normal
schedules. Take some time to fill those scheduled holes to keep away boredom.
4. Always encourage yourself.
Lack of confidence in oneself can lead to boredom. Take some
time to survey your wins, medals or high points so as to back up your
confidence and keep moving forward.
3. Meditating.
Allow your mind to be fixed on one thing you want to
achieve. Always be focused.
2. Journal.
Start writing journal on a topic you find interesting and captivating.
This is similar to medication but it is bit more active and can be less
imaginative.
1. Adding a new challenge.
When you find yourself always bored, this means you have a
part of your time where you lack an activity that meets your needs. Include a
new challenge or a hobby in order to fill up the time.
The best way to deal with boredom is to know why you are
bored. These are some suggestion to help you. You can devise your own means of
dealing with boredom that works best for. You gets closer to the cure of
boredom when you know these root causes:
Lack of useful energy. Exhaustion is not the same with
boredom. Boredom happens when you lack the energy which you may find very
useful while having an abundance of another form of energy. Look for a physical
activity that will make use of the energy you have in abundance.
Procrastination. Figure out the tasks you are procrastinating
and nuke the procrastination
Schedule gaps. When there is a sudden change in your
schedule, quickly fill up the gap and add other activities to keep you busy.
Bring out time too for reflection.
Environmental factors. Such as: taking long trips, long
uninteresting classes or copying long notes.
Lack of motivation. You are not striving hard to get rid of
the boredom.
SO WHAT ARE YOUR OWN MEANS OF HANDLING BOREDOM?
