7. FARC (Forcas Armadas Revoluitonary da Colombia).
Also known as Revolutionary Armed forces of Colombia. They were
formed in the 1960s. They have been engaged in kidnapping, extortion and
illegal mining. They are known by the government of Colombia as a terrorist
group. The
Colombian government in 1962 assembled some civilians to work with the army in bringing the threat by FARC to an end. Many killings, assassinations and bombings in Colombia has been ascribed to FARC. FARC have been attributed as one of the world largest drug trafficking organization. They are no longer brutally active nowadays as they once were but they still remain threat to the Colombian security.

6. Hezbollah
They are Shia’ist militant group. They based in Lebanon and
are assumed to be more powerful than the army of Lebanese. It was formed by Muslim
clerics in a bid to stop Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Their aim is to stop
westerns and western allies especially Americans from staying in Lebanon. They were
being funded and supported by iran and Syria. Bombing of US embassy in Lebanon,
hostage crisis in Lebanon, the attack on London Israeli embassy, and many other
terrorist activities were accredited to this militant group.
5. ISIS (Islamic State Iraq and Syria).
This is a Sunni jihadist terrorist group based in the Middle
East. Their chief aim is to gather majority of Muslim troops under their
control. They have their fortification in Syria, Iraq, Palestine, etc. they are
for violating human rights, hostile attacks such as open-fire attacks on
civilians and killing of children. In the last few years, they have had a
tremendous growth in their population with up to 80000 fighters in Iraq and
Syria. Their inhumane acts have prompted UK, USA, and many other countries launch
attack on them to counter their growing insurgency.
4. Tehrik-I-Taliban.
They are in based in
Pakistan. They are seen in Afghan border of Pakistan. Their aim include: to
bring down the Pakistan government, enforcement of sharia law and fighting NATO
forces in Afghanistan. They are have been responsible for various cruel attacks
which includes: suicide bombings, bombing of UN offices in Pakistan, and
attacks on Pakistan security stations.
3. Lashkar-E-Toiba
They are one the most notorious terrorist group operating
currently. Their attack on Mumbai in November 2008 remains the most infamous.
Many civilians lost their lives as a result of this attack. They have also
launched attacks on the parliament of India. They have made promise to free Muslims
living in Indian Kashmir. Their aim is also to bring in Islamic state in South
Asia. They use children of age 12-14 to achieve their terrorist activities.
They have been responsible for many bombings in India. Saudi Arabia is the
allegedly sponsor of this terrorist group.
2. Taliban
This group is based in Afghanistan. They have yearly
turnover of 400million dollars. Their spiritual leader is Mohammed Omar and he
is one of their founding member. Taliban was responsible for the attack on the
twin towers of world trade center in New York on September 11, 2001. This terrorist
group formed as a result of mobilization by the US, for the purpose of setting
the Afghanistan free from the bondages of the Soviet Union. They were trained
by the ISI. They have been attributed to perpetrating human rights violations
such as raping women and ethnic cleansing in Afghanistan. They are one of the
most dangerous terrorist groups in the world presently.
1. Al-Qaeda.
The founders are Osama Bin Laden, Abdullah Azzam and other
militants. Their aim is to bring together Muslims across the globe and a strict
observation of the Sharia law. They partook in the September 11 attacks,
bombing of US embassy in 1998 and bombing of Bali in 2002. They carry out their
operations through executing suicide missions using suicide bombers. Despite
the death of Osama Bin Laden which became an obstacle in deploying their
missions, they remain the most deadly terrorist group in the world today.
Bombing of world trade center in 1993, Ashoura massacre, and bombing of Baghdad
testifies the fact. They have many executive jets and aircrafts including
Boeing 727s
